中西區區節自1983年首次舉辦，今屆已為第十屆。而多年來，中西區各社團及地區人士一直積極參與籌辦區節的工作，藉以加強各社團間的聯繫，以及增加居民對中西區的歸屬感，是社區建設工作一個成功的例子。今屆中西區區節的工作已於本年四月展開，在得到中西區民政事務處、中西區區議會、警務處、康樂及文化 事務署、廉政公署和各社團及地區人士的鼎力支持和協助下，區節統籌委員會必傾盡全力，務求令今屆中西區區節再創美好的成績。
The first Central and Western District Festival was organized in 1983 and now it is the ten time that this meaningful activity is held. Over the past years, local organizations and district personalities have actively participated in the organization of the Festival activities, so as to bolster the communication of the local groups and strengthen the sense of belonging of the residents. The Festival is an example of successful community building. With the great assistance and support from the Central & Western District Office, the Central & Western District Council, Hong Kong Police Force, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Independent Commission Against Corruption, local organizations and district personalities, the Committee will definitely spare no effort to strive for brilliant results in the Festival.
